ISLAMABAD: Pre-monsoonal showers will begin from today (Tuesday) bringing solace to the people disturbed with severe scorching summer, according to Meteorological Department.
The Met Department said at least 15 percent more rainfall is expected this year than the previous year.
According to Meteorological Department, most downpours are likely in the coastal areas of the country and upper Punjab areas including Gilgit-Baltistan.
It should be mentioned here that the pre-monsoonal rains will be beneficial for the crops in irrigable swathes of land.
The regular monsoonal rainfall is going to begin in the first week of July to last till September 15.
It is pertinent to note here that Met Department has not made any flood forecast thus far; however, the government should make precautionary measures in areas where flood is feared. SAMAA
