ISLAMABAD: Pakistan on Tuesday lodged its protest with Afghanistan over Sunday’s cross border attack which killed six Pakistani soldiers, SAMAA reports.
Officials said Afghan deputy head of mission was called by foreign office on Monday, adding that “Pakistan has lodged its strong protest over Afghan militants’ intrusion”.
On Sunday, Pakistan Army said militants killed six troops after crossing into the country from Afghanistan in Upper Dir region. 11 militants were also killed during the fighting.
Pakistan’s claim of militant casualties could not be independently confirmed.
Militant groups use parts of Afghanistan for sanctuary to stage attacks inside Pakistan, army officials said. -- SAMAA
