PESHAWAR/QUETTA: Five people, among them two children, were killed and at least 33 others injured when two separate blasts took place in localities of Peshawar and Quetta on Thursday, SAMAA reports.

Police said the first blast took place near shrine of Panj Peer in Hazar Khwani graveyard on the outskirts of Peshawar, killing two children and a man.

Some 19 people, including seven women and six children, were also injured.

According to a senior police officer the bomb was planted in pressure cooker near the shrine’s wall, with the bomb tearing it down as it exploded.

He said at least ten to twelve kilograms of explosive material was used in the blast.

QUETTA BLAST

A second blast took place in Farooqia mosque at Ghaus Abad area of Quetta, killing two persons and injuring at least 14 others.

Police and rescue teams arrived at the scene and shifted the injured to nearby hospitals where emergency was declared. The deceased were identified as Mohsin and Naimat Ullah.

No group claimed responsibility of the two blasts. – SAMAA
