PESHAWAR/QUETTA: Three people were killed and at least 32 others, including women and children, were injured when two separates blasts ripped through localities of Peshawar and Quetta on Thursday, SAMAA reports.

Police said the first blast took place near shrine of a saint in Hazar Khwani graveyard on the outskirts of Peshawar, killing two and injuring more than 17 people, seven women and six children among them.

According to a senior police officer the bomb was planted on a donkey cart when it exploded near the shrine. The cart had been placed near the shrine’s wall, with the bomb tearing it down as it exploded, he said.

He said at least ten to twelve kilograms of explosive material was used in the blast.

A second blast took place near a mosque in Ghaus Abad area in Quetta’s Satellite Town, killing a person and injuring at least 15 others.

Police and rescue teams arrived at the scene and shifted the injured to nearby hospitals where emergency was declared.

No group claimed the responsibility of the two blasts. -- SAMAA
