Salman Butt likely to be released soon

Staff Report

LAHORE: Sentenced in the spot fixing case, Pakistan cricket team’s former captain Salman Butt is likely to be released today or tomorrow from London jail, SAMAA reported Wednesday.

Father of Salman Butt, Zulfiqar Butt told SAMAA that his son was being released and deported to Pakistan within days.

It may be recalled that Salman Butt was sentenced two and a half years of imprisonment in November, 2011 by the Southwark Crown Court.

He also told that his arrival could be delayed in case Salman had appealed.

Besides Salman Butt, Muhammad Aamir and Muhammad Asif were also sentenced in the spot fixing case. SAMAA
