500 police to stand guard in old city areas: Atiq Mir

KARACHI: Chairman All Karachi Tahir Ittehad (AKTI), Muhammad Atiq Mir Wednesday said that at least 500 police personnel have been appointed in commercial centers located in old city areas.

He said these personnel have been stationed in old city areas on permanent basis in accordance with the promise by Inspector General of Sind Police (IGP) Mushtaq Ahmed Shah.

Atiq Mir said other sensitive markets of the city will be provided with additional contingent in the next phase, informing that the Rangers’ high-ups solicited proposals from traders to make security model  of the sensitive markets. SAMAA
