Political activist among 10 killed in Karachi

Staff Report

KARACHI: At least ten more people, including a political activist and a woman, have been gunned down in different areas of the city since last night, SAMAA reported Sunday.

Political activist Liaqat Bangash’s death has become a mystery as different opinions are presented as his death’s cause.

Bangash died in Rabia City, Gulistan-e-Jauhar area of the city this morning.

Police said that he tried to escape and jumped from the fourth floor of a building that caused his death.

On the other hand, Bangash’s friends and party workers said that he was poisoned to death.

Police said that he was wanted in several cases.

A large number of the people gathered to see his dead body at Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center (JPMC).

Bangash’s death sparked tension in the area as five people, including two policemen, were reported injured in firing incidents.

Police have arrested several suspects.

Earlier this morning, a man was shot dead near Chandni Chowk, Saeedabad while another was killed in Kharadar.

Three limb-tied dead bodies were recovered from Nagori Society near Super Highway. They were kidnapped before being shot dead.

Two more limb-tied bodies were also recovered from Lyari. They were identified as Asif and Ayub. Both are said to be MQM activists.

Three people were reported injured in Frontier Colony, Baldia Town and Gulshan-e-Iqbal areas of the city.

35-year-old woman Rubina was killed by her husband in Khokhrapar, Malir. SAMAA
