LAHORE: Chief Minister Punjab called on Jamat-e-Islami chief Syed Munawar Hasan on Saturday and discussed the current political scenario, SAMAA reports.
Speaking to newsmen after the meeting at JI headquarter, Mansoora, Shahbaz Sharif, who is also central leader of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, said both the parties have expressed resolve to jointly support the judiciary in the wake of ‘conspiracies’.
He said they discussed the issue of formulation of an impartial election commission before general elections and a ‘grand alliance’ of the two parties.
On the occasion, Syed Munawar Hasan said conspiracies against the judiciary had been exposed. He vowed to press the government for timely, fair and transparent holding of general polls. – SAMAA
