Aitzaz, Bokhari barred from entering Sindh bars

Staff Report

ISLAMABAD: The entry of Prime Minister Gilani’s counsel Aitzaz Ahsan in Sindh bar councils was banned as lawyers took out rallies in different cities to show solidarity with judiciary on Saturday.

Lawyers announced that they would observe a strike on June 18.

Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) President Yasin Azad said Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, after taking notice of his son’s alleged corruption, has proved that all is equal before him.

After lawyers’ convention in Karachi City Court, Aitzaz Ahsan and Zahid Bokhari have been barred from entering Sindh bars.

Lawyers in Multan, Faisalabad, Lahore and other cities staged a strike for the second day at the call of Punjab Bar Council (PBC).

Lawyers reiterated they would not let any conspiracy succeed against the Supreme Court.

Addressing a press conference in Lahore, SCBA chief Yasin Azad said all those involved in Arsalan Iftikhar case should be investigated.  SAMAA
