PM Gilani eloquent on government achievements

Staff Report
LAHORE: Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani Saturday said the government is taking up measures to exterminate the sense of deprivation among the people of Balochistan; besides, it is well aware of the expectations of citizens in southern Punjab.

Addressing a ceremony held at Civil Services Academy here, the PM Gilani noted the government doled out targeted subsidies for the elimination of poverty and created one hundred thousand job opportunities for next year.

The government, he stressed, has incorporated 3400 Megawatt of electricity in national power grid to put to end the power crisis inherited from the previous government; several projects including Diamer-Bhasha, Tharcoal, Manda and Dasu are in progress.

Various other short, medium and long-term projects will augment the power generation by thousands megawatts, the optimistic premier asserted the electricity not only will suffice the national needs but also can be exported.

Enumerating the government attainments, the Prime Minister Gilani said the government introduced the policy of political reconciliation and reinstated the employees sacked on vengeance.

The PM Gilani urged the government officers to play their role in economic reforms by keeping distance from politics. SAMAA
