GUJRANWALA: Relatives of a female Hafiz-e-Quran, murdered by suspected robbers, staged a protest outside the DIG Office and chanted slogans against the police in Gujranwala on Wednesday.
The woman was stabbed to death after she resisted a robbery attempt in Kamonki around one and a half month ago.
The affected family staged a two-hour long protest outside the DIG office and called for the arrest of the killers. The extended protest prompted RPO Amin Wains to hold talks.
He later suspended Kamonki SHO Rana Imran and ordered immediate arrest of the accused.
On the other hand, protesters said that they would set themselves on fire outside the Chief Minister House in Lahore if the suspects were not apprehended by Friday. SAMAA
