BHAKKAR: At least 12 people were killed and over 40 others injured as a result of formidable collision between two buses in the city, SAMAA reports Saturday.

According to details, two passenger buses bumped head-on into each other near Faisal Chowk on Mianwali-Muzaffargarh Road in the city. The accident was so fierce that 12 passengers lost their lives on the spot and over 40 others sustained injuries.

The bodies and injured were shifted to nearby hospital.

According to police sources, a bus was plying from Rawalpindi to Bhakkar, while the other one was en route from Karachi to Islamabad.

The police source said the accident occurred owing to over-speeding. SAMAA
