LAHORE: At least six children died while 21 received burn injuries as nursery ward of the services hospital caught fire here on Thursday.
DCO Lahore said that the incident occurred due to short circuit.
Several children were being taken out of the ward by breaking glasses of windows, sources said.
Besides loss of valuable lives, several important items of the hospital also burnt to ashes in the incident.
Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has ordered for an inquiry regarding the heartbreaking incident.
A guard of the hospital and a fire fighter were also injured in the incident.
Parents of the children said that the incident occurred due to negligence of hospital administration. SAMAA
