Peshawar: Civil society protests against 4 ladies’ alleged killings in Kohistan

Staff Report

PESHAWAR: A large number of protesters belonging to the civil society staged protest in Peshawar today against four ladies’ alleged killings in Kohistan, SAMAA reported on Tuesday.

Members of many organizations including Peshwar Aman Tehrik and Aurat Foundation rallied in front of Peshawar Press Club and chanted slogans against the government over Kohistan incident.

The protesters said on the occasion that if those four women, who clapped during a marriage ceremony, have not been killed then the administration should present those in public.

According to the representatives of the civil society, the government has adopted criminal silence over Kohistan incident.

The protesters demanded that the government should adopt sanity and launch an immediate official probe into the alleged killings of girls while an action must be initiated against the unjust local council of Kohistan area.

The civil society members added while protesting that rendering of death penalty over marriage celebration is a degradation of the humanity and no religion or law on face of earth permits that. SAMAA
