KARACHI: Police on Thursday found three dead bodies in Quaidabad area of Karachi, SAMAA reports.
The death toll from the ongoing violence in the city has now mounted to 16 over the past 24 hours.
Police said three dead bodies, bearing torture sings, were found near a railway track in Karachi’s Quaidabad area, adding that their identification could not be immediately confirmed.
“The bodies will be shifted to Jinnah hospital for medico-legal formalities,” a police official told SAMAA on the spot.
Earlier, four people, including a Rangers man, were killed in different incidents of violence and target-killing.
The renewed wave of drive-by assaults continued in the metropolis, claiming 16 lives in 24 hours, sparking panic in various localities, with business activities suspended.
Some nine people were reported killed, including a political worker, on Wednesday alone, creating chaos in the city, prompting the police to escalate patrolling and snap checking.
President Asif Ali Zardari has called a high-level meeting in Chief Minister House today to review law and order situation in the violence-ridden capital of Sindh. – SAMAA
