SIACHEN: After 50 days’ non-stop search and rescue efforts, finally two martyred soldier’s dead bodies have been recovered by the search teams at Gayari Sector in Siachen, SAMAA reported on Sunday.
Earlier on April 7, 139 soldiers were buried under a very large avalanche at Gayari Sector of Siachen and since then hundreds of personnel and dozens of heavy earth moving equipments were busy round the clock to locate those.
Firstly, dead body of martyred soldier Muhammad Hussain was recovered. He belongs to village Upper Shughar Thang of Skardu.
After performing of funeral prayers at Gayari, soldier Muhammad Hussain’s body was sent through a helicopter to his native village where he was buried with full military honor.
Later on after a couple of hours, another buried soldier’s dead body was also recovered near the location of first recovered body.
At least 450 personnel with all necessary equipments and plants are non-stop busy to locate all those soldiers buried under the avalanche. Many tunnels have been dug during colossal digging operation at six major points.
The search and rescue teams have reached near the check post of Battallion Headquarters at Gayari Sector in Siachen.
This first major success, after 50 days’ round the clock efforts, has filled the rescue teams with more spirit and enthusiasm for finding all, buried under the avalanche, very soon. SAMAA
