ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani has ordered strict action against those involved in the killings of innocent people in Karachi, SAMAA reported on Wednesday.

Gilani said this during a meeting with Interior Minister Rehman Malik here.

In the meeting, the minister gave a briefing to the PM over Karachi unrest. Gilani expressed his deep concern over the killings of innocent people in the city.

The premier directed the minister to maintain peace in the city working together with the Sindh government.

Yesterday, at least 12 people were killed in Karachi after Awami Tehrik launched a rally. Unidentified gunmen opened fire on the participants of the rally and other people in different areas. SAMAA
