Punjab is already divided into two provinces on the basis of poverty. It is strange logic that we don’t care when Seraike belt is poor while Punjabi belt is rich but we care when Seraiki Belt wants its own province on the basis of ethnicity. Infact Punjab Government is exploiting the slogan that provinces should not be made on the basis of ethnicity; just to conceal its wrongdoings with Saraeki belt. If Seraiki Belt was richer and happier then they would have never opted for a separateprovince. They are the most deprived people of Pakistan. Every on agrees that Provinces should be created solely on the basis of better administrative reasons and general welfare of the people rather than winning political points. I am an eye witness to the massive differences between the urban and rural Punjab. As soon as you move away from GT road, an eye opening account unfolds of poverty, injustice and deprivation. The most neglected parts are the southern parts of Punjab undoubtedly.
