KARACHI: A large number of containers have started to move towards Karachi from Peshawar for expected resumption of NATO supply any time soon, SAMAA reported on Tuesday.
The Chairman of All Pakistan Tankers Association, Yousaf Shehwani, has said this day that the Interior Ministry has instructed them to complete all arrangements for NATO supply.
He added that the Interior Ministry has given a green signal for resumption of NATO supply but their security concerns have not been removed yet.
Few months back, after deadly attack on Salala check post and killing of troops, Pakistan halted supply of NATO forces which deteriorated ties with the US but it seems now that within next few days all issues will be resolved.
More than six thousand containers, carrying supply for NATO troops, constantly move on highways between Karachi and Afghanistan; they use Torkham- Jalalabad Highway and Quetta-Chaman route for travel.
The containers drivers are very happy over news of NATO supply resumption as they are hoping to get back their jobs after many months’ break. SAMAA
