Vehari goes on rampage on power outages

Staff Report
VEHARI: The citizens distraught by the broadening durations of power outages in the city, going on rampage, set the WAPDA premises on fire on Thursday.

The infuriated power demonstrators, taking to streets against 18-hour load shedding in the city, smashed the glasses and defiled the WAPDA building with sticks.

The protesters set the employees’s motorcycles on fire, which soon overtook the premises leaving the employees stranded in shelters. The marooned people were rescued with the help of long ladders.

The fire brigade before long showed up to extinguish the fire. Policemen also arrived on the spot to break up the demonstrators.

On the occasion, the fired up protesters rampaged the offices of political parties including Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Q-League, and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).

The offices of PPP’s Asghar Jatt and PML-N’s Tehmina Daultana were committed to snapping flames. There were also students clad in school uniforms among the protesting crowd. SAMAA
