QUETTA: The SP of Balochistan’s Criminal Investigation Department (CID) Shah Nawaz Khan has been laid to rest with state honor, SAMAA reports Tuesday.

The funeral prayers for the eternal peace of Shah Nawaz Khan Achakzai were offered in Police Lines Quetta this afternoon. Various police high-ups including MPA Captain Abdul Khaliq, Inspector General of Balochistan Police, Additional IG and the CCPO attended the last religious rites of the deceased.

A contingent of police jawans gave final salute to the martyred officer. Achakzai was laid to rest in his ancestral cemetery located in Quetta.

It should be mentioned here that the police officer Shah Nawaz was gunned down in the city’s Satellite Town in today’s wee hours.

According to details, Shah Nawaz Achakzai came out of his residence for morning walk when some unidentified miscreants, lurking in wait for him, ambushed him with gunfire. As a result, the CID’s SP died on the spot.

The deceased received nine gunshot injuries. SAMAA
