Why Nawaz is in haste for general elections, wonders PM

Staff Report

LAHORE: Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani Sunday wondered why Mian Nawaz Sharif was in hurry for general elections despite the fact that his party lost recently-held by-elections, reports SAMAA.

The mercury of elections is seen rising across country as every political party is busy taking lead on the other by holding mammoth mass rallies. Meanwhile, PM Gilani too has started showing his true colours in this connection.

PM Gilani held one-to-one meeting with Governor Punjab earlier today. Interacting with newsmen following that meeting, the premier challenged PML-N saying the latter should resign from assembles; his party would arrange by-polls soon.

“The slogans like go Zardari go and go Gilani go are mere childlike desires,” PM said, challenging both Imran Khan of PTI and Nawaz Sharif of PML-N that duo could do nothing even if they join hands against his government. “Those who are holding small rallies must stay cognizant of the fact that even my children can hold such rallies,” he maintained.

The premier inquired why Nawaz Sharif had not remembered Swiss Cases while signing Charter of Democracy CoD, accusing that it was him (Nawaz Sharif) who fled away when it was high time to combat dictatorship.

The leader of N-League should seek apology from nation for bargaining with dictator, he suggested. Lawyers opted for the right decision by not backing long march against federal government, PM welcomed. SAMAA
