Lyari standoff: Uzair Baloch may surrender today

Staff Report
KARACHI: The federal and Sindh governments approached Balochistan Governor Nawab Zulfiqar Ali Magsi for a mediatory role in talks with People’s Aman Committee (PAC) leaders, SAMAA reports Friday.

According to sources, the negotiations with the PAC leaders over Lyari operation are currently underway and a breakthrough is quite likely today.

Federal Interior Minister Rehman A. Malik and MPA Mir Nadir Magsi are also in the parleys seeking to defuse the standoff over Lyari operation which entered 8th day today with no concrete results at hand.

It should be mentioned here that the PAC leader Uzair, beleaguered in Lyari, will surrender to the Rangers as a result of the successful negotiations. SAMAA
