ISLAMABAD: The Water and Power Ministry has issued today an official notification for 12 percent hike in power tariff, SAMAA reported on Wednesday.

After this latest increase in power tariff, now electricity will cost further from Re. 0.62 to 1.84 per unit for domestic consumers, Re. 1.80 for commercial consumers while Re. 1.40 for agricultural consumers across the country.

The Prime Minister approved this 12 percent hike in power tariff for consumers across the country.

Although the life line consumers, who use under 50 units, have been exempted from this price increase but domestic consumers’ power tariff has climbed to the highest level in the history of country. SAMAA
