LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Wednesday said that he would give up politics forever if proved that a single penny of the loan he took was written off.
Speaking at a ceremony of Punjab Education Endowment Fund (PEEF) here, Chief Minister Sharif said an IG of liars was carrying evidence of loan’s waiver against him.
“If it is proved that even a single penny of loan was written off, I will not only resign as the Chief Minister, but also quit politics forever,” he said.
He said that “corruption had been carried out in every government. Justice and police stations were also sold, but the level of corruption we see today is unprecedented.”
The chief minister said situation could improve in six months if those sitting in Islamabad returned looted money. SAMAA
