IGP Sindh likely to be replaced by Wajid Durrani

Staff Report

KARACHI: The government is reported to have decided to change Inspector General (IG) Sindh police Syed Mushtaq Shah, SAMAA reports.

Sources said IG National Highways and Motorway Police (NH&MP), Wajid Durrani, is likely to replace Mushtaq Shah.

Durrani, who has also served as IG Islamabad police and IG Sindh, called on Federal Interior Minister Rehman Malik few days back and agreed upon assuming new office.

Reports say Durrani is going to retire on May 25, 2012 and he is likely to be given extension in his term.

Mr Durrani is also accused of being involved in the assassination of Benazir Bhutto’s brother, Mir Murtaza Bhutto. -- SAMAA
