SIBI: Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry has confirmed that a nine-member bench will hear the possible appeal of government against the contempt of court ruling.
Speaking to lawyers at Sibi today (Tuesday), Chief Justice Chaudhry said the contempt of case verdict was delivered by a seven-judge bench while its appeal would be heard by nine Supreme Court’s judges.
Three judges will not be included in the bench, he said, refusing to disclose their names.
The chief justice said that if an appeal is filed, five to six judges are available for hearing. SAMAA
