Gilani is still Prime Minister: Punjab governor Khosa

Staff Report
LAHORE: Punjab Governor Sardar Muhammed Latif Khosa Saturday said Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani is still an incumbent premier.

Talking to media after having a meeting with the PM Gilani, Punjab governor Khosa said the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) can pull down the Punjab government in a minute;  but, it does not want turncoatism to come into being.

Launching a tirade against the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Chief Mian Nawaz Sharif, Khosa said the points over Swiss accounts raised by Nawaz are nothing but creation of his own mind.

Speaking in clear overtones against the judiciary, Punjab governor urged the courts to tread the middle path in order to provide justice, adding Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Iftikhar Muhammed Chaudhry asks in Mehrangate scandal ‘not to mention Nawaz and Shahbaz Sharif’.

Lest a side of the balance scale should touch the skies with the other fallen on the ground, he added.

“I feel pity for Nawaz Sharif… He issued orders in his prolonged speeches,” the governor Khosa noted urging the court to take suo motu notice of Nawaz’s press conference.

He clarified that after the apex court’s conviction verdict, people reacted against the ruling with grief and fury; but, the party did not asked them to do so.

Khosa said Nawaz’s statement will impact adversely on the economy. SAMAA
