PM Gilani must resign after SC judgment: Imran

Staff Report

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chief Imran Khan said on Thursday that Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani should resign from his position after being convicted by the Supreme Court (SC).

While talking in a press conference here, Khan said that his party (PTI) will go for a long march if PM Gilani did not resign.

After SC judgment there is no reason now for his prime minister ship, Imran said.

Imran asked ‘if the PM did not respect the court’s orders, then who else would?’

He congratulated the SC and said ‘now its people’s turn to choose either corrupt politicians or sincere ones.’

Imran wrote that PTI will always stand by the law and SC. He said that his party will not accept any political defiance and ridicule of SC’s decisions.

The SC has ruled that Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani is guilty of contempt for refusing to obey an order to write to the authorities in Switzerland to ask them to re-open corruption cases against President Asif Ali Zardari. SAMAA
