KARACHI: After the Supreme Court convicted Prime Minister of contempt of court, firing incidents erupted in Karachi in which a senior PPP worker was killed, SAMAA reports.

Muhammad Khan Niazi was shot dead in Lyari, considered to be stronghold of PPP, after unknown miscreants fired shots on a rally taken out in protest against the apex court verdict.

Reports said Niazi was an active worker of PPP and former town Nazim Lyari.

Firing incidents also took place at different areas of the city, including Malir, Nazimabad, Gizri, Khadda Market, Zamkama and Liaqatabad where frightened shopkeepers closed down shops and other business activities.
