SKARDU: Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani Wednesday said the country’s armed forces do not want more spending on defence due to disputes.
Talking to jawans here, he said Pakistan’s armed forces are wholly united for the defence of the country, adding, ‘We want to resolve all outstanding issues with India including Siachen through dialogues.”
“I do not want to answer of the questions raised by Nawaz sharif, the PML-N chief,” Kayani said adding everybody knows as to why are the national forces are sitting in Siachen.
It should be pertinent to note here that Nawaz, during his visit to Siachen, urged the government to take initiative for withdrawal for forces from the glacier-covered region.
“We want peaceful co-existence with India as amicable neighbors; however, our desire for should not be misconstrued as weakness,” the COAS Kayani remarked.
