SKARDU: Chief of his own faction of Pakistan Muslim League, Mian Nawaz Sharif on Tuesday exhorted Pakistan and Indian governments to withdraw their troops from Siachen sector and resolve the issue through dialogues, SAMAA reports.
Sharif met family members of the soldiers in Skardu and remained with them for some time. Later he distributed cheques among them.
Appreciating soldiers of Pak Army and their bravery, the PML-N chief said the entire nation was praying for soldiers.
He expressed his resolve to hold talks with India to resolve the Siachen border dispute with Pakistan, and urged both governments of both the neighboring countries to withdraw their troops from the mountainous military bases.
Some 139 soldiers and civilians were trapped at the Gayari sector following a massive avalanche on April 7 as none of them has so far been retrieved. SAMAA
