ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry said today that former president Pervez Musharraf breached the Constitution to impose emergency in the country but role of the Parliament is praise-worthy for not giving legal protection to dictator’s deeds, SAMAA reported on Friday.
Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry said during his address to International Justice Conference in Islamabad this day that the Supreme Court itself took action against those judges who took oaths under the PCO.
He added that the Supreme Court also added an article in its code of conduct to bar every judge of taking unconstitutional oath in future.
“Those judges, who took oaths under the PCO but not requested for pardon yet, they all are still facing the court proceedings,” the Chief Justice added. SAMAA
