Staff Report
KARACHI: The Commissioner of Karachi has officially mounted price of milk by Rs. 10 per liter today, SAMAA reported on Monday.
The previous official price of milk was Rs. 60 per liter in Karachi and after today’s increase it has mounted to Rs. 70 per liter.
People of the metropolis are, in fact, already purchasing milk on Rs. 70 per liter as the milk sellers are not ready to supply milk on official price.
After this official increase of Rs. 10 per liter by the Commissioner of Karachi, it is feared that now milk will be sold on Rs. 80 unofficially.
The government and commissioner remained unable to enforce official milk price in the city and the sellers were free to charge prices of their own choice.
The Commissioner has also announced this day that from now onwards, milk prices will be reviewed after every six months. SAMAA
