KARACHI: The blast which targeted a police armored personnel carrier in Karachi’s Malir Halt area was a suicide attack, killing four people, the city police chief told SAMAA.
Death toll from Thursday’s blast reached to four as five people were injured.
Earlier, a suicide bomber rammed his explosive-laded motorbike with a police armored personnel carrier in Malir Halt when a police squad was passing through the area, killing two passersby. Two others later died on way to Jinnah hospital, officials said.
Rangers and the city police chief, Akhtar Gorchani confirmed that it was a suicide blast which targeted SSP Malir Rao Anwar’s patrolling party. However, Rao remained safe in the attack.
Rescue sources said bodied of four people had so far been shifted to Jinnah hospital morgue.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah has sought report of the incident from IG Sindh police.
