Karachi: ANP chief asks workers not to get provoked

Staff Report

KARACHI: Chief of Awami National Party, Asfandyar Wali has appealed party supporters not to get provoked in the wake of recent spree of violence in Karachi, SAMAA reports.

Hidayatullah Mehsood, a member of ANP Sindh Council, was gunned down by unidentified bikers in Peerabad area among five others, triggering more killings in the reaction.

Meanwhile, at least seven more people lost their lives till Saturday morning, taking the death toll to 17 over the past three days.

In his statement, ANP chief condemned murder of Mehsood, calling for early arrest of the culprits.

“ANP could not be bowed down by any cruel mean. The party will not withdraw its support for the victim families of Karachi. I appeal the workers that they should observe restraint in this situation,” Wali said in a statement. -- SAMAA
