KHANEWAL: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Chief Mian Nawaz Sharif Thursday blamed the government and its allies for aggravated situation in Karachi.
Talking to media after addressing a party’s public gathering here, Nawaz said he did not hear even the name of bhatta (extortionist activities) during his tenures in power, noting some elements politicized Karachi’s police and administration.
Nawaz remarked the judicial orders are not being heeded as the government is focusing exclusively on corruption, confrontation with the courts and avoiding the Swiss letter, adding the government and its coalition partners are responsible for the aggravating law and order situation in Karachi.
The PML-N chief Sharif underlined that his party has no militant wing.
Commenting on the raging power crisis besetting Pakistan currently, Nawaz asserted India sought power from Pakistan when he was the premier of the country; contrarily, there is no electricity in the country; now, India is offering to give electricity.
He added there is no harm in taking electricity from India if offered on reasonable prices, adding no progress is expected in a country where load shedding spanning 20 hours is being carried out. SAMAA
