Staff Report
ISLAMABAD: Zaka Ashraf, the chairman of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), today praised Misbah ul Haq’s captaincy, saying he led the team well in the Asia Cup despite pressure.
Interacting with reporters in the federal capital, Ashraf said people talk a lot about Misbah, but he is doing a fine job.
There was sudden change in mood of Bangladeshi people after the defeat in the final of the Asia Cup, he said, adding even the Government of Bangladesh became emotional.
All decision will be taken on merit, he said, adding a committee of experts would decide about the bowling coach.
“ICC has sympathy for Pakistan. We have called on the cricket governing body to hold its next meeting in Pakistan.
“We want good ties with all cricket boards.”
Ashraf further said the ICC should adopt a soft approach toward Muhammad Amir, considering his age.
The PCB chief said “we are in contact with different boards to play cricket at neutral grounds.” SAMAA
