‘I cannot become Boom Boom Misbah’

Staff Report
LAHORE: The skipper of Pakistan’s national cricket team Misbahul Haq Saturday said everyone expresses happiness over the victory; however, all cricket fans should support their team if it is defeated.

Pakistan’s cricket team arrived back in Pakistan after sealing a victory in Asia Cup played in Bangladesh against the hosts. A large number of cricket fans received Misbah along with Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Zaka Ashraf at Lahore airport.

During a discussion with the mediak, Misbah replied to a query regarding his batting style, saying that every player has his importance in the team; hence, he can never become Boom Boom Misbah, adding he is criticized by those who have no understanding about cricket.

On this occasion, he dispelled the impression that senior players did not cooperate with him, noting that the Asia Cup win was a result of teamwork.

Reacting to media questions, PCB chief Zaka said he is resolved to restore international cricket in the country.

Also, he denied media reports that the Bangladesh Cricket Board had declined to send its national cricket team to Pakistan. SAMAA
