ISLAMABAD: Prices of at least 25 food items increased in the county in last week, the Federal Cabinet was told on Thursday, SAMAA reports.
The meeting, chaired by Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani in the federal cabinet here, was briefed on food item prices, inflation, load-shedding and water shortage in the country.
The cabinet, sources said, also reviewed parliamentary committee’s proposals on the US and NATO ties, besides discussing political and national issues.
According to the briefing on food item prices, rates of at least 25 food items increased last week, and that of 5 items decreased while 23 remained unchanged.
Ministers claimed that the prices of meat, cooking oil, electricity and petroleum remained stable, while that of chicken, eggs, onions, potatoes decrease over the past one week. SAMAA
