ISLAMABAD: The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani left for the UK today on an official three-day tour, SAMAA reported on Monday.
The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani visited Foreign and Commonwealth Office and Ministry of Defence at United Kingdom, this day.
According to an Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) press release, the COAS held meetings with senior civil and military leaders including Minister of State for Defence, Mr Nick Harvey; National Security Advisor, Sir Kim Darroch; Special Representative for Afghanistan and Pakistan, Mr Mark Sidwell and Chief of Defence Staff, General Sir David Richards.
The meetings provided opportunity for a candid exchange of views on a wide range of issues of mutual interest including bilateral defence cooperation and current situation in Afghanistan.
Earlier, COAS was presented a Guard of Honour by a smartly turned out contingent of The Horse Guards at the Horse Guard Parade. SAMAA
