Pakistan set 330 runs target for India in Asia Cup

Staff Report

MIRPUR: Pakistan have set 330 runs target for India in Asia Cup fixture at the Sher-e-Bangla National stadium of Bangladesh on Sunday.

The main feature of Pakistan innings was centuries of both openers, Muhammad Hafeez and Nasir Jamshed.

Jamshed (112) and Hafeez (105) put their team on course for a big total with a 224-run stand for the opening wicket in the day-night match, the first between the two teams since the World Cup semi-final at Mohali last March.

Earlier, Pakistani captain Misbah-ul-Haq won the toss and decided to bat.

In Pakistan side, Sarfraz Ahmed is not playing as Wahab Riaz is included in the team. Umar Akmal will keep the wicket.

Indian side is led by MS Dhoni. India have made one change: Ravindra Jadeja makes way for Yusuf Pathan.

Despite the rain on Saturday evening, the forecast for Sunday suggests a full game will be possible. The teams will be keeping in view the rain effects in particular for the outfield. SAMAA
