MULTAN: Enraged people took to street and set a passenger bus on fire following the killing of a youth in a road accident on Nawab Road area of Multan, reports SAMAA on Friday.
Demonstrators also pelted police mobile van with stones during the protest.
According to details, a speeding school van trampled a motorcyclist to death while the suspected driver made off unharmed from the crime scene.
Later, enraged mob, after placing the dead body of the ill-fated youth on road, staged protest against the inefficiency of law enforcement agencies, ending up setting a bus in flames and pelting a police mobile van with stones. They also triggered arson on the spot.
Police officials were of the view that the deceased was an employee of WAPDA, avowing to bring the culprit responsible for mishap to justice.
Agitators were of the view an under-construction plaza caused the accident as, according to them, the construction had resulted in previous road crashes many times in past.
Locals appealed the authorities to widen the road to thwart such incidents in future. SAMAA
