12th Rabiul Awwal: Pillion riding ban lifted

Staff Report

KARACHI: In connection with the celebrations for 12th Rabiul Awwal, ban imposed on pillion riding is now ineffective for two days from today (Saturday) here in the metropolis, reports SAMAA.

Three days ago, the ban was put in place for five days to ensure peaceful occurrence of celebrating processions relating to 12th Rabiul Awwal but on the persistent insistence from Karachiites, the Sindh government announced yesterday to put away ban on 11th and 12th day of Rabiul Awwal.

Governor Sindh Dr. Ishrat-ul-Ebad and Home Minister Manzoor Wasaan jointly chaired a high-level meeting at Governor House on Friday night to review security arrangements, and the duo had ended up announcing the ban to be lifted for two days, Saturday and Sunday. SAMAA
