KARACHI: In the wake of Monday’s upheaval in national politics rising from Supreme Court judgments, the Muttahida Qaumi Movement has cancelled its mass meeting scheduled to be held in Sukkur on Jan 20, SAMAA reports.
The party spokesman said a new date for the mass gathering would be announced later.
Sources said MQM, which is a PPP ally, cancelled Friday’s meeting in the wake of Monday’s crucial judgments in NRO and memogate cases.
The apex court today issued notice to Prime Minster Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani, summoning him on Thursday, for not abiding by court orders in the NRO implementation case, prompting the PM to call a meeting of government’s ruling allies to mull over the situation. SAMAA
