Akmal recalled, Malik axed for England Tests

LAHORE: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) recalled Umar Akmal for three-match Test series against England, to be played in UAE in January next year.

All-rounder Shoaib Malik was dropped from the squad in the wake of his disappointing show in recent series against Zimbabwe, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.

Selector Muhammad Ilyas announced the 16-man team for the tour on Monday.

Misbah ul Haq will lead the side.

Team: Muhammad Hafeez, Taufiq Umar, Imran Farhat, Asad Shafiq, Azhar Ali, Younis Khan, Misbah ul Haq, Adnan Akmal, Umar Akmal, Abdul Rehman, Saeed Ajmal, Aizaz Cheema, Junaid Khan, Umar Gul, Wahab Riaz and Muhammad Talha.
