LAHORE: Hundreds of activists of Sunni Tehrik (ST) staged a protest in Lahore against the arrest of five clerics, who had come to the city to take part in Difa-e-Pakistan rally.

Shahidra Chowk turned into a battle ground between police and ST activists.

The ST workers were calling for immediate release of arrested clerics.

The police baton charged the protestors, who in return pelted stones and blocked road by setting tires on fire.

The demonstrators said their protest would continue until arrested men were released. SAMAA
