LONDON: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain, explicitly defying allegations on ISI and Pakistan army leveled by US army chief Mike Mullen, has urged on convening a roundtable conference to mull the issue, SAMAA reported Friday.
In his statement from London, Hussain described Pakistan as being ‘Frontline State’ in US-ignited war on terrorism.
He asserted thousands of armed soldiers of Pakistan lost their lives fighting WOT during last 10 years.
ISI played pivotal role in banging key Taliban terrorists yet accusing intelligence agency of complicity is nothing more than ‘concoction’, Altaf claimed.
He called upon President Zardari and Prime Minister Gilani to convene a roundtable of all political and non-political groups at this juncture in order to help Pakistan overpower the situation.
The entire nation stands by army for the sovereignty of Pakistan, he vowed.
It may be mentioned here that outgoing US army chief Mike Mullen and White House had accused ISI of enjoying secret ties with Taliban’s Haqqani network, which US believes was responsible for the recent attack on the US Embassy in Kabul and other assaults in Afghanistan that have killed several American troops.
