KARACHI: Rifts between two coalition partners in Sindh, Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) erupted once again when Sindh Home Minister Dr Zulifqar Mirza declared People’s Aman Committee as the part of PPP.
During his address to party workers in Malir, on the death anniversary of Abdullah Murad, Mirza said “I announce that People’s Aman Committee is PPP’s wing and if all of its members are criminals, it makes me one too.”
MQM’s Rabita Committee has demanded party to separate from Sindh government as the coalition partner.
Federal Interior Minister Rehman Malik telephoned MQM’s London secretariat and assured MQM leadership that reservations over Mirza’s statement would be resolved.
Anees Advocate, while talking to SAMAA, said that Mirza had passed such statements in past as well. "He accepted Peoples' Aman Committee as the part of PPP. He is drunk when passes such statements." SAMAA
