Bird bumps into Lahore bound PIA plane

KARACHI: A bird was bumped into PIA fleet PK-302 of Lahore bound plane at Karachi airport, said sources Friday.

According to sources, a bird was bumped into a PIA plane, heading to Lahore while taking off at Karachi airport.

At least 421 passengers were boarded the plane.

“We heard a loud voice while the plane is taking off,” said a passenger Sumaiyya Baig.

The passengers and crew have been shifted to safety launch and the plane is being examined.

“The incident of birds bumping is usual, we stop the plane in such situation and resumes the flight after examination,” said PIA spokesman Sultan Hasan. “In some cases the damaged plane replaced with a new one”.

It is pertinent to mention here that a passenger plane of a private airliner Air Blue, carrying 152 people crashed in a ball of flames Wednesday into densely wooded Margalla Hills here amid heavy rain and poor visibility, killing everyone on board. Among the passengers six were crew members. SAMAA
